Doing my part for the novelty curve...

Shamelessly thieved from [info]childeric, because I've run out of gigs, and in the absence of music-fuelled excitement, I need new things in my life.

Poll #391461 Recommend me a:
Open to: Friends, detailed results viewable to: Friends, participants: 16

1) Club

2) Restaurant

3) Pub

4) Band

5) State of being (decide what that means for yourself)

6) City

7) Gosh-wow must-see 'see Naples and die' sort of sight

Poll #391462 And to complete the set:
Open to: Friends, detailed results viewable to: None, participants: 8

8) Girl

(I admit, I include this one in the interests of seeing how the general tone of the responses goes, given Simon's and my different friends-lists. Also, you know, salaciousness and laughs. All answers kept strictly confidential.)

Edit:

And in [info]childeric style-ee, some responses to the hidden question:

[info]burge: She wasn't there. There's no justice.
[info]cathuk: Whichever you'd rather, although one is funnier, obviously.
[info]charlieinmcr: Exactly what is it you think I'm endowed with?
[info]meetpaulblack: 2 problems - 1) That's plainly impossible. 2) Even if it were possible, I fear it'd make me feel inadequate.
[info]stu_n: You're the second person to suggest that, but I can't recall the last time I had a free Friday...

er...

I wouldn't have a clue what to recommend, for most of these, but while you'r asking , we need a quiet pub, nice atmosphere, for when I teach you backgammon.

What was the name of that malt I was drinking last night? Mortlach?

Yes, it was.

You may be happy to hear that while they didn't have any to buy in London, I've just been able to order a bottle of it from the society mail order.

Which, yes, does mean that I've unfortunately wound up buying two bottle of very nice whiskey instead of one. However shall I cope?

How awful for you.

Need any help with that?

I think I may, yes. I do seem to have hit double digits in terms of bottles of whisky in the house again (whoops - although, in my own defense, a couple of them are almost finished), and there's a couple more I still want to buy.

I thank god that it's expensive and refined drinks that I spend a fortune on, or else I might look like a common lush.

Need some help with whisky, you say?

Further to recommendations - is your love of strange meats confined to meats from strange animals, or do you also appreciate strange bits of animals?

It's funny how I find myself swamped with volunteers to help with that, isn't it?

And it depends on how strange. I draw the line at eyeballs, brains and reproductive organs of any kind. Anything else, I'll try.

well, the Faint are playing next tuesday and are very tempting, interpol have some gigs lined up soon i think. PWEI are still selling tickets for their thing early next year. Death cab for cutie has just canceled their european tour, but don't let that put you off their last album which is sweet. David Kitt is next playing london in January also, in the slightly odd venue of the electric ballroom.

I have no idea what you might make of Tim Bowness

Yeah, I've got a PWEI ticket, I think. I shall check out the others when I get home, although I've just discovered that the Larry Love Showband (Alabama Three gone acoustic, basically) are playing in Brixton just before christmas, which may have to be done.

Poll completed. Re. 8, I only know one eligible (sane, solvent, attractive and single) woman (see poll). I'm crap at matchmaking anyway.

For comedy reasons - Jordan :p On more serious note I really dunno, only got the one single and straight lady friend - and you've already met her. All I can advise is stick to girls with sensible names ;)

Responses to the hidden question. Damn, that's a clever idea, the edot. Definitely doing that next time.

well I don't really have any recommendations for london places or london chicks, so I thought I'd just stick to 'state of being'.

They don't have to be physically close in order to be interesting/worth trying/entertaining answers. (delete as appropriate)
